Kathmandu 2010 July 10:
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal had blamed UNMIN of trying to work beyond its reach and touchinf in the Nepal's internal
affairs. Talking in a program he urged UNMIN is working useless.
Mr. Nepal is serving as the caretaker prime
minister after he resigned in June. PMcriticised UNMIN, which was set up to invigilate Nepal's peace process
after the former rebels Maoists joined the mainstream politics 4 years back--
over its proposal on the integration and rehabilitation of the PLA fighters
currently residing in the cantonments.
"The
task of concluding the peace process is the responsibility of the Nepalese
political parties," he said, dubbing the UNMIN as a non-stakeholder and
its proposal to carry out the army integration in 15 months as absurd.
His
argument was that only 11 months are left to accomplish Nepal's peace process
along with the completion of ongoing constitution-drafting, and such a proposal
will but hinder the processes.
